Smoothie Trick

A long time ago I figured out the best way to make a thick and creamy smoothie so I thought it was time to share with anyone who doesn't know the tricks.

  1. Use mostly frozen fruit and always add in a frozen banana (or if you want lower sugar frozen zuchini)

  2. No ice or water!! Sometimes I will add a little coconut water or a coconut water icecube but regular ice and water will make your smoothie well...watery.

  3. For liquid, you can either use nut milk or juice. I use juice like pure organic pineapple juice and The Power of 7 from Tader Joe's. Just make sure it's a good quality, no sugar added juice. The ingredients in the pineapple juice I use is "pineapple"...that's it. Fruit smoothies are already packed with sugar simply from the fruit, we don't need added sugar from the juice.

  4. I also encourage you to add veggies to your smoothies. I swear you can't taste most veggetables! Greens, zuchinni, celery, carrots...they all blend into the fruit and you can't even tell they're there. Now, obviously if you use garlic or someting intense you'll taste it but you get the idea! Don't miss this oppourtunity to sneak in some veggies to your diet

You'll notice my measurements are pretty much nonexistant in my smoothie recipes. I use the large personal cup for my ninja blender and fill it all the way up. Unless you're baking, cooking isn't an exact science. Measurements smeasurements! If you don't have a ninja blender you can use a regular blender. That's it! A few adjustmesnts make all the difference! Keep checking back every week or so for more smoothie recipes and get creative on your own!
