To celebrate backyard herb season being upon us, it's pesto time! This is a super quick, very versatile recipe that takes an old favorite, and turns up the health factor by adding kale! I haven't met many people that don't like pesto, but I know many people don't like kale. Let me put your mind at ease and tell you, you can't taste the kale. Put in on bread, add it to pasta, make a grilled cheese pesto sandwich...eat it with a spoon... Whatever floats your boat!

Ingredients
Basil (I measure this by filling my food processor almost all the way.)
1 handful of kale
4-5 garlic cloves
1 cup of good quality parmesan or parmesan/asiago/romano blend
1/2 cup of walnuts
1/4 cup pinenuts
Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder
Cayenne powder
Olive oil
Directions
Blend everything in food processor adding olive oil until you have a nice paste.
Tip- I like mine thick, but depending on what you're using it for add more olive oil!
Taste and adjust as needed.

Look at that beautiful color!!
